The Black Sheep Restaurant + Bar is a restaurant in Santa Barbara, California. It is listed at 18 E Cota St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, which places it among the local businesses of Santa Barbara that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as bar, bistro, californian restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 5β9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. We booked a party of 12 yesterday for my son and his wifeβs wedding celebration and had a wonderful experience! First of all, I want to thank Kelly the events coordinator for her quick and thorough correspondence! This was a last minute dinner request and she was more than accommodating! We had the patio all to ourselves and the atmosphere felt like we were in Italy. The staff were really attentive and the food was AMAZING!!!!! Thank you Black Sheep for making their wedding day special!!!!

The staff went above and beyond for my friendβs birthday dinner. We got the special chefs table where the chef himself would bring out most of our food. Everything was so delicious and we were even brought free shots to celebrate the occasion. Never had I ever had service this good. Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area. The vibes were so nice too.

New Brunch menu just dropped at The Black Sheep and itβs one not to be missed! Their new Saturday brunch (9β1pm) is not your typical breakfast, but an experience that will have you coming back for more! We kicked things off the right way with bottomless mimosas and the Brunch Banger made with vodka, Liquor 43, and POGβ¦ dangerously good. For food we started with their Dutch Babies. What are Dutch Babies? They are both sweet & savory perfection. The sweet had seasonal jam, powdered sugar, and fresh berries, while the savory brought the flavor with pancetta, ComtΓ©, and braised leeks. Total comfort in a hot skillet. You will not find these anywhere else in town! Then came the crepes. One filled with the best Heirloom tomatoes, Brie & basil. Iβm picky about tomatoes, but these were top tier. The other savory crepe was filled with mushrooms, Brie & hamβ¦ each one light, yet satisfying. And you already know we had to end on something hearty; the Shakshuka. Baked eggs in rich tomato and herbs, we added bacon (donβt skip it), and soaked it all up with fresh Riviera bread. If youβre looking for your next brunch spotβ¦ this is it. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy the bite!

Huge thank you to Rueben, the owner of Black Sheep, for hosting our wedding dinner last minute and providing the most incredible dining experience! We did a set menu which was chosen and severed by the wonderful staff and Rueben himself! We were blown away and could not have asked for a more perfect evening with wonderful atmosphere and incredible food! π

Easily the BEST dinner in SB. Superior to a number of restaurants in the area(even those with Michelin stars). Iβve been here by myself, with a group of 3-5, 20+ guests AND 120+ guests and the quality and service is consistent and incredible. EVERY. TIME. The service and the food are above and beyond. Every time Iβve come in I ask the for the 4-course meal and I have NEVER been disappointed. They always change it up and if there is ever something that sticks out to me on the menu they will accommodate the ask and incorporate it into the meal. My personal favorite is to sit at the bar. Jess always takes the best care and is beyond exceptional. She been here since being at the old location (reflecting the consistent quality and excellent ownership of Black Sheep). Jess is quick, knows the menu inside and out, and honestly, she is true, top-tier talent. You will not regret visiting here. This is a staple to Santa Barbara and one to remember!!
